Τον προπονητή του , Χοάν Πεναρόγια ακολούθησε ο Ριβέρο καθώς ο 27χρονος φόργουορντ/σέντερ έκανε το ίδιο δρομολόγιο από την Μπούργος στην Βαλένθια.
Την περσινή σεζόν o Kουβανός είχε 12,2 πόντους και 5,5 ριμπάουντ μέσο όρο στην ACB, ενώ στο BCL είχε 12,8 πόντους και 6,8 ριμπάουντ.
